Yesterday they were visiting first time out of the nest! I found IC
sitting in the middle of the room on the bare floor looking at me
like...hah can you see me..Iīm a big girl.. Later in the evening IF
followed her sisters way out. The world is calling and they want to
find out what is out there. Today they have been wrestling as kittens do. They have so much fun with eachother. The weights of the kittens are now IC 402 and IF 462 grams. To be just two and half weeks I think they have developed quite well. IF is turning to be black although he has still some lighter stripes in his coat, but he is black cat ...with some white hair in his throat. IF looks like a small bulldog in the pictures. IC is just like a girl. They are both very social kittens. When I enter the room, they are both coming to meet me on their cagedoor. They are absolutely charming. They are here now!! A girl and a boy. Irregular Choice and Iron
Fist. NFO n 22 and n. Today was their 8th day in the nest and
their weights are at the moment IC 263 g and IF 303 g. Not bad I think.
That roundheaded big and fat boy opened his eyes yesterday and that a
bit smaller girl is opening them at the moment. Fiona is very proud and
caring as usual. She makes all possible to keep them safe and clean and
well fed! For a moment I thought they were both boys but later when I had a better chance to look at their butts I relized that the smaller one is a female. This time I was wiser than with H-kittens and named them so that itīs possible to change their sex if it occurs that they might need that operation.... After all I think I need to have new glasses...itīs obvious that I canīt see well. At least I say so when I do my work... not so well.... And then about IFs color. It is black. Iīm quite sure about it although there are good stripes along his both sides. I think they will vanish. I presume that his color is just the same expression that makes people think they have silver or smoke kittens in the litter although itīs not even possible. Later on they turn to be just black ot blue. IFs head is black as it should be and his coat quality is ruff and much harder than his sisters. But the kittens do really well. I think the girl can be show quality, but the time will tell. Today she is with very nice features in all. IF is just ruff, rugged and raw! Rikus first visit to the nursery was short. He saw only Fionas kitten food. After eating as much as he could so that no one could see what he the tiny little cat is doing..he took a look at the kittens...He shaked his head and said "not my type" and walked to the foodbowl again. Now he has found out that THE BOWL is there behind the closed door...Oh pity pity...to keep it there is the biggest possible vaste of food...those creatures in the nest wounīt eat it for a long time...so WHY CANīT I - he asks. VH has visited the nursery too. Hís reaction was nearly the same. "Oh jee...kitties...nice...OH YEAH...FOOD...ISNīT THAT GREAT!!! Now both boys wait behind the door to see a glimpse of that gorgeous bowl.... Yinnie..she concentrates to renew the decoration in our livingroom. She is just tearing the wallpapers..I didnīt hire her...she is a volunteer...!!!.  This picture of Yin Yang will be on the summerbag of Royal Canin (Finland) next summer * |

year, new games. Fiona is pregnant and her and VHs offspring will be
born in the beginning of february. Yinnie was in heat some days ago but
VH has been implantated after four litters, so there was nothing to do
this time. The male for Yinnie has been chosen, but I must wait untill march. Just before or right after our Madeira-trip there is a possibility to mate her. But I have my doubts...maybe she isnīt in heat at the right time or she just wounīt get pregnant. Now I have to find a new, good female to my breedingwork. I have plans to leave one female-kitten from Fionas litter but if Yinnie isnīt pregnant before next summer I have to find a new female to continue. Next week will be our holidayweek...we have to do some work after the storm which distroyed my little forest almost totally. I donīt like it. It makes the invironment to look very different. But there is a lot of good things in it too. There will be no lack of firewood...and not in several years I suppose. But before that the workcamp waits us.... *

20.12.2011....That
damn Luciferdinand...Once again it was my fault ofc...why did I leave
them on her way. She has eaten now approximately from 7 to 9
earphones...I donīt want to count them and not the spent euros in any
case...There has been expensive Sennheisers, a bit cheaper Kossīs and
some others...all gone with the wind called Yin Yang. As you probably
know her name means opposite powers of the universe in chinese
philosophy and there canīt be the other power without the
other...thatīs
where the universe begins...but in her there is only one great
power....Disaster....disastrous... the only power she has.
And she is a xmascat...pretty and picturesque. Itīs xmastime and we donīt have snow...only darkness and day is about 5 hours and 30 minutes long.....but tomorrow will be....Martienes birthday ofc and the day when this darkness is not getting deeper anymore. After some days the day will be one or two minutes longer...Yihhuu.... Soon I will be counting days...first to Fionas kittens birthday and then to our Madeira trip...Hey...the spring will be here soon again... | 11.12.2011 Year 2011 as been quite a good year. I have achieved the goals I had in the beginning of the year and as a photographer I did have more I could imagine. As a breeder I didnīt get what I wanted but Iīm not a "catmaniac" so thatīs allright. Maybe the coming year will be better and I can be more interested of breeding and most of all of shows too! Maybe someday I can have a cat with whom I can create a showcareer. My cats are allright but not the high quality cats needed in scandinavian shows to be successfull. I want to go to the shows knowing that we are competing with high level, nor just to be EX2 or EX3. Today I have two good cats...Riku who has been a good showcat earlier and Fiona who could be a good showcat....but Fiona hates shows and Riku has been at home at the dinnertime....so today I donīt have potential showcat in my population. VH is mostly a nice breedingcat, not a showqualitycat and Yinnie...well she isnīt a good breedingcat thatīs for sure and she isnīt a showcat either...I donīt have any idea what she is...Nice pet...maybe. Plans for the next year: Fiona will have kittens in the beginning of february. Itīs nice and I think she will not fail me. Yinnie will be mated if she īll be in heat one day. I will have my EFIAP before the summer and will begin to work with next level. It means I have to have 75 acceptances at least with 25 different works and 3 awards which must be from three different countries. Itīs an easy task as we talk about the acceptances but the awards are a bit different thing. To be awarded the picture must be selected from thousands of pictures and I donīt have any pictures as good as "The grey witch" which was awarded four times in all. You canīt use already used pictures when you are competing in the Efiap-levels....But it is nice to have new challenges. I wish youīll all have a nice and cosy xmastime!  |
| 04.122011 Disappoinment!
I
was so damn disappointed when I realized that Yinnie had so called
pseudopregnancy and there will be no kittens.
Pseudopregnancy
is not very common with cats and I could not believe it would happen in
my cattery - until now.
Yinnie will be
two years in january and she has been in heat about 3 times and now
mating with VH didnīt succeed.
Signs are not
good
and I think if there will be another change to mate her and if there
will be difficulties at that time too her career as a
breedingqueen
will be over. There is no sense to continue with these qualities.
Yinnie is very
nice
cat with nice temper and I hope to get an offspring after her for my
later plans...but Iīm afraid there will be no kittens at all...
If so, I will
castrate her and search a new home for her too.
Luckily Fiona
did
get in heat and eased my irritation ...I have mated her and there will
be (Iīm quite sure of that) kittens again in february.
Not in
Valentines day, but 4-5. of the month.
I had to mate
her
immidiately after Yinnie cause we are going to travel to Madeira in the
beginning of april and kittens must be grown to get along
with our
daughter Milla then. She will keep an eye of them. They will be about 8
weeks then.
VH will be
temporarily castrated after seeing Fiona is really pregnant.

| 30.10.2011 ...and Iīm filling the EFIAP-form.The acceptances, salons, countries, and pictures are all gathered! Now itīs time to make some new plans and new pictures. Next shows I can participate are coming later next year. So now itīs time to renew my collection and make some damn good pictures...hahaaaah. Yinnie is pregnant and will have her kittens in the end of next month. She is as she always has been, nice and easy. Hope she will be that way after giving birth to her kittens too. Iīve made a folder for her kittens to my gallery.... I looked at the results of WW-show 2011. I think this year it was a turn of good looking, high quality cats to be nominated. There are always exceptions but most of the nominations sounded good. No ugly hound dogs this year! *

| 01.10.2011 Iīve got really nice news. One of my pictures has been published in the book called "The naturephotographs of the year 2011". The picture is a semifinalist in the competition. Alltogether there has been about 11.500 pictures competing and mine is in the book. That is probably the best score Iīve ever got with my pics...  Maalla on mukavaa... *

Once again "the grey witch" was a ribbonwinner in Northern counties
exhibition. It made me really glad. And I have some news to
tell too, Vipmillīs I-litter is under construction!!!. l announce the
couple when Iīm sure there will be some kittens in the end of
november. Iīm very excited of this litter and Iīm trying to find out if
there is any possibility to have one femalekitten (hopefully there is a
female kitten) as a hostcat. But first and before all I hope there
will be kittens! Photowork continues as usual. 11 acceptance are still missing. I hope to get them during this autumn. |
01.09.2011 One acceptance in Narava
2011 (Slovenia) exhibition to this picture: In the Shadows I
must soon count the amount of my acceptances. I know Iīm close to the
needed 150, but there are some of them still missing and I hope to get
them during this year. So I could be ready for Efiap in the spring.
After that there is a new battle for Efiap/b...and so on. This work
will continue through my life, I suppose.
This week Iīve done some judging too. I have a tiny competition to work with and one young woman whose pictures Iīve promised to look at. I like it. Itīs fun. Our holidays will be soon over. The autumn is here and somehow itīs even nice to go back to work from this two houses workingcamp. We have so much to do and itīs only nice to have a break from it too. Cats??? Nothing so far! So calm and peaceful and in good order and what is most important: everything in control.

| 31.08.2011 All needed work has been
done. So we are free to make some little trips in the countryside and
to the seashore. Days are getting shorter all the time, but still there is much nice light to take photos. Especially Iīm waiting to see Kallo in Pori. I think we need to go there in the evening and spend there time until the sun sets! Cats are doing well and they enjoy a lot of their lazy days. Cranes have been in the air a lot lately. They are soon going to move to the warmer places. *

Third week of holidays behind! Iīve done a lot of gardening and
yesterday we were in the library of Huittinen showing my pictures to
the naturephotographers of Kokemäenjokilaakso. It was nice and I
enjoyed it very much. Cats do enjoy their possibility to run outside and spending time in catruns and Iīve taken a lot of actionpictures of them, especially of girls. Concretework continues too. Iīve made plans of rosemobiles...let see what happens and what do we really get. Iīve done so much picturework, gardening and concretework that I havnīt got time to concentrate to my knittings at all. They must wait until the autumn and winter is here....(sigh)..too soon! *

20.30. I can feel the autumn come. Just sat with boys in the catrun and
at the same moment it was raining and the sun was shining. Light is
low, voices die away and darknes falls earlier day by day. Somehow it
feels a bit blue. *

| 18.08.2011 Catrun has a new floor. Finally. It looks good and is very easy to clean and even boys seem to enjoy their catrun now more than earlier. And I enjoy it very much. Now they donīt have any possibility to hide "things" around the ground and I donīt need to find out where the "things" are. Hide and seek is completed! All together everything is in very good order and Iīm really glad to keep it that way. My photowork continues with new exhibitions and I think Iīm quite close to have the needed acceptances for Efiap already. Itīs a pity that my last year was a total disaster and I didnīt have strength enough to do things I really should have done. I spent too much time just with things that were worth nothing. Himmeli was visiting us last week. She is really sweet and beutiful girl. She acted like she had never been away from us and after a while was friends with all other cats. Only Riku was too big in her opinion (OMG), but others were just ...well cats..I suppose! What about my plans, you ask?? What about them? I have and I donīt have...everything is up to my females...! As it always is. * |
